PLATFORM FOR THE TREATMENT OF ORGANIC SOLID WASTE (FORSU) THROUGH ANAEROBIC DIGESTION AND SUBSEQUENT AEROBIC STABILIZATION FOR THE PRODUCTION OF MIXED COMPOSTED SOIL AMENDMENT AND BIOMETHANE

The plant was designed for the anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (FORSU), followed by an aerobic stabilization phase of the digestate and the green fraction. This process enabled the production of a mixed composted soil amendment and the recovery of the generated biogas through its conversion into biomethane.

During the detailed design phase, Biomet Spa, in collaboration with the selected suppliers, also positively evaluated the introduction of technological improvements compared to the previously authorized process scheme. These modifications were aimed at ensuring the achievement and maintenance of the required performance standards, in relation to the type of waste treated and the plant’s capacity, in full compliance with the authorization requirements and applicable environmental parameters.
