TREATMENT OF THE ORGANIC FRACTION FROM SEPARATED URBAN WASTE COLLECTION USING ANAEROBIC DIGESTION AND COMPOSTING FOR THE PRODUCTION OF BIOMETHANE

We carried out a plant optimization and development project at the treatment facility for the organic fraction of separately collected municipal waste, located in Sarmato and operated by Maserati Energia S.r.l..

The project involved the adaptation and improvement of the plant systems dedicated to anaerobic digestion and composting processes, with the goal of increasing the system’s efficiency and reliability.

The project was designed to recover value from the organic fraction and produce biomethane for injection into the distribution network, with a focus on material and energy recovery.

We also handled the related permitting activities, preparing and managing improvements to the plant for the treatment of the organic fraction from separated municipal solid waste.
